St. Croix Valley Job Center; Assisting Job Seekers in Pierce and St. Croix County

September 28, 2023

Through robust job assistance and programming, the St. Croix Valley Job Center serves community members in Pierce County and St. Croix County. The St. Croix Valley Job Center is part of the One-Stop-Operator (OSO) system, a network that provides powerful community support throughout the region. OSOs, or American Job Centers, streamline the job-seeking process for regional communities. By partnering with local, state, and federal agencies, educational institutions, and economic development organizations, Job Centers provide crucial connections for their community.

As One Stop Operator Coordinator at Workforce Inc., Erik Hinch oversees the job system network to ensure all Job Centers provide access to local and regional resources. “This work is important because the folks that we’re serving in our community have trouble accessing different programs. Some have transportation issues. There are so many different avenues they have to go through to access services. The One Stop Operator is meant to put all these services under one roof, and have all people work together to increase accessibility for the folks that need it the most.” As part of the broader job system network, the St. Croix Valley Job Center provides localized resources for Pierce County and St. Croix County, and ensures these areas have a centralized connection to the broader network.

St. Croix Valley Job Center

By helping community members with training assistance, job search assistance, and job retention services, the St. Croix Valley Job Center helps bolster the local workforce. By providing assistance with the complexities of technology, housing, and job searches, Job Center staff are able to help community members with their distinct needs. The center features programs for students, incumbent workers, and workers with disabilities, and helps these groups in dynamic ways. Staff members respond to job seeker needs by identifying training opportunities and referring job seekers to outside agencies. By doing so, staff members aid community success and help job seekers put their best foot forward in a job search.

In addition, the St. Croix Valley Job Center has services for justice-involved community members. Staff members can help job seekers with a criminal background re-enter the workforce by assisting them with needed release items. Moreover, justice-involved citizens have access to the Job Center’s additional services.
