WIOA Title I Services
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) helps individuals prepare for, find, and succeed in employment. Through WIOA Title I, eligible adults, dislocated workers, and youth may receive individualized career services, education and training assistance, work-based learning opportunities, and other support needed to reach their employment and career goals.
West Central Works contracts with Northwood Technical College to provide WIOA Title I Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth services throughout the West Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Area. Northwood Technical College staff work directly with individuals to answer questions, explore available services, determine potential program eligibility, and assist with the next steps in the WIOA process.
WIOA services may include:
- Career planning and individualized employment assistance
- Job search, resume, and interview assistance
- Career exploration and labor market information
- Occupational skills training and education
- On-the-Job Training and other work-based learning opportunities
- Financial assistance with eligible training costs
- Supportive services that may help address barriers to employment or training
- Youth education, employment, and career-development services
WIOA Title I Programs
- Adult Program: Employment and training services for eligible adults who need assistance obtaining, retaining, or advancing in employment.
- Dislocated Worker Program: Career and training assistance for eligible individuals who have been laid off or otherwise meet Dislocated Worker eligibility requirements.
- Youth Program: Education, employment, work experience, and career-development services for eligible in-school and out-of-school youth.
Where Can I Get Help?
West Central Wisconsin Job Centers and service locations connect job seekers with workforce programs, career services, education and training resources, and partner services. Customers may receive assistance in person and can be connected with the appropriate workforce program or partner based on their individual needs.
