With A Grateful Heart
December 8, 2024
I am truly at a loss for words when it comes to expressing my gratitude to both of you and everyone who played a role in helping us secure the Quest Grant. Thank you also for the invitation to attend this morning's meeting. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the success stories that have resulted from the efforts of West Central Works.
Working in early childhood education requires a very special person—someone with a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of brain development and psychology, and a commitment to continuous learning. Beyond that, they must have an incredible amount of patience and a nurturing heart. As I mentioned this morning, there was a time when I simply could not afford to remain in the childcare industry due to the lack of pay and benefits. Unfortunately, this has caused many quality teachers to leave the field. It warms my heart to know that your team is aware of this challenge and is actively working toward positive change.
I am excited to begin hiring teachers in the coming months and offering them a compensation package that includes much-deserved PTO, Sick Leave, In-service Days, Health Benefits, a 401K match, in addition to wages that are approximately 20% higher than the local average. Your dedication and efforts will not only enhance the quality of care we provide to the children at The Grove but will also support the hardworking childcare teachers who have long been undercompensated.
Ultimately, the children are the biggest benefactors of all of this.
I am thrilled to work alongside you as we continue to revolutionize the childcare industry. I truly believe that The Grove is laying the groundwork for other organizations to be inspired by and follow.
Please feel free to share my contact information with anyone interested in learning more about our efforts at The Grove.
With a grateful heart,
Shannon Donaghue
